Canoes I Have Paddled.

This is an ongoing project - I'll be adding more to it whenever I have the time, inclination & memory.

Tandem Canoes I Have Paddled:

Sawyer Cruiser - the 1st canoe I ever bought, 17'9", fast but not the most seaworthy.

Sawyer X-17.

Grumman 16 - 1st Adirondack trip on Follensby Clear Pond - 3 men in a tub.

Lincoln ?.

Old Town Camper - good initial stability, plows thru water inefficiently.

Old Town Penobscot 16 - good speed for a Royalex boat, less stable than a Camper.

Old Town Discovery 158.

Coleman/Pelican 15.5 - despite the aluminum frame they still tend to get hogged, ugly but works better than it looks, heavy.

Wenonah Sundowner 17.

Wenonah Aurora - nice all-arounder.

Bell Morningstar.

Bell Northstar - sweet tandem for light/medium paddlers, ok soloed.

Bell Northwind (17.5') - sweet.

Bell Northwind Rx (16.5') - great general purpose tandem.

Bell Chestnut Prospector - perhaps my favorite all-around tandem canoe, above average initial & secondary stability, maneuverable, great in waves.

Stowe Adirondack 16.

Merrimack Traveler - 17' beauty, paddles nice.

Dagger Legend 15 - works as a slow solo, good solo/tandem on rivers.

Dagger Legend 16 - classic river-runner, heavy tho, slow on flatwater.

Dagger Reflection 15 nice all-rounder, soloable.

Mad River Reflection 15 - ok for soloing.

Dagger Reflection 16 - decent general purpose tandem.

Dagger 17.

Mad River Malecite - tandem for light load.

Mad River Explorer - general purpose tandem, heavy in Royalex.

Mad River Explorer 14TT.

Swift Kipawa - nice.

Swift Keewaydin 16 - very nice.

Swift Keewaydin 17 - very nice.

Swift Prospector 16 - I want one.

Swift Prospector 17.

Ward's Sea King - a 17' aluminum.

Solo Canoes I Have Paddled:

Oscoda Solo 13.

Old Town Pack - 1st solo I ever bought, lots of initial stability, fair glide, a bit too wide for single-blading.

Sawyer Summersong.

Sawyer Autumn Mist - nice for heavier paddler.

Sawyer Shock Wave - fast but did not like on choppy water.

Bell Wildfire - maneuverable.

Bell Yellowstone Solo.

Bell Merlin II - above average.

Bell Magic.

Bell Bucktail - 12' pack canoe.

Bell Rockstar.

Wenonah Prism - 16.5'.

Wenonah Jensen - low seat, uncomfortable for me, not as fast as expected, good tracking, hard to turn.

Wenonah Wilderness - poor secondary stability.

Swift Osprey.

Swift Keewaydin 15 - very nice for medium to large paddler.

Swift Raven - river runner.

Swift Shearwater - nice for larger paddler.

Swift Pack 12.

Swift Pack 13.6.

Swift Keewaydin 14 Pack.

Merrimack Baboosic - 14' solo Prospector - symmetrical with a bit of rocker - nice on the Oswegatchie & other twisty streams.

Dagger Caption - solo/tandem ww boat.

Dagger Impulse.

Dagger Sojourn - good tracking, poor turning.

Mohawk Probe ?.

Blue Hole ?.

Hornbeck Lost Pond 9 - way too small for my 200 lbs - left me with barely 3" of freeboard.

Hornbeck Lost Pond 10.

Wilderness Systems Commander.
